Freebie Friday #11

Saturday, July 9, 2016

I'm in a cottage mode: beach and sunshine.  No, unfortunately no cottage trips in my nearest future, but  my mobile provider got me into the mood even though it seemed like they were just mocking me at first. "Hey now you can have wifi at the cottage too, we got ya". Well, I really wish you got me to cottage too. But what's done is done and my brain has crossed the water line.
So for today's freebie we're going to have something Nautical.

But before that here's the news! I finally got myself to set up a Facebook page for WingedGraphics. It's by no means complete yet, but I'm getting there. So if you like what I do Follow me on facebook and you'll be able to see all updates and share new postings directly from my page.
https://www.facebook.com/wingedgraphics

Also if you're not following me on Instagram you can find me under @winged_graphics .
Now this week's treat: two pages of nautical vibes for Erin Condren vertical spread life planners in burgundy and navy blue.

P.S. TGIF.

Belated Freebie Friday/Sleepy early Saturday #10

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Ok, so it's way past midnight and I got home maybe an hour ago. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines..ugh
I was typing I'm ready for the weekend to start and I realized it has already started. I'm ready to ignore that and get some sleep. But before I say a warm hello to Morpheus I'm ready to keep my promise.
So here we go: Freebie Friday #10
For the last few weeks, I have been posting very bright and colorful planner goodies. The summer, the warmth the chirping birds got to me and I have been feeling like swirling around in  a bright floral gown for a while now. I consciously chose to stay away from colors today. A little break won't do much harm besides I had a pretty cool idea. Well, I think it's cool, which means that its coolness is quite questionable. I'll let you be a judge. I love love love chalkboards. It brings up the child in me.
A few weeks ago I got myself some chalkboard paint and I've been turning everything around me from home decor to art supplies into chalkboards. I am currently the proud owner of a chalkboard coffee tray, chalkboard wall calendar, and a very chalkboard fabulous pantry shelf. Unless someone takes this paint out of my hands the madness will continue. On this madly chalky mode, I decided to create a chalkboard ticket set for Erin Condren life planners. It's a bit dark but my inner Morticia Addams is very pleased.
So here you go. those who've been here know the drill those who have not this is how you do this

JUST A SHORT ANNOUNCEMENT.

Friday, June 24, 2016

Today's freebie Friday will be posted after midnight. I have to meet a work deadline first!
Sorry :/

The first update I actually ended up making

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Well, today is good as any to start, besides I have some reasons to make it this time.
The last edition to my store is one I probably enjoyed making the most. As I have mentioned before fashion illustration is a weakness of mine and working on this bohemian fashion set too much fun not to mention. I couldn't wait to use it and it ended up going pretty well with a new washi tape a recently purchased.  There's something to this plum/purple and gold combo, especially with that gorgeous purple high heel pump.
The full set used is the one below,
If you want to find it on etsy click here

FREEBIE FRIDAY #9: SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER

Friday, June 10, 2016

I am still in a summer mode even though the weather here is a bit on the crazy side. Is it weird that I come here to rant about the weather? I feel like it happens on weekly basis. Well,  it’ 9 degrees today and I am wearing a leather jacket and tomorrow’s forecast says 32 and humid. The funny thing is I just want to have one free weekend when I can spend some time ina part alone with a book, but every single weekend the weather seems to have totally different plans for me.
I had a small dental surgery yesterday so still in pain and looking like a one-sided chipmunk . The funny thing is I never take selfies, but  I dtoday and sent it to my sister. She told me I need to work on my duck face. Chipmunk just did not make the cut.
So I’m sitting here and sipping on my cold Iced cappuccino  on a not so warm day . The ice cap is from Tim Hortons of course. Feels like my photo should be under some  true Canadian stereotype thread.
The fun part is the ice cap is practically prescription. I  cannot have anything warm or not liquid for the next 3-4 days. So it’s cold soups for food and I was specifically told to have slushies or ice caps. When a dentist tells you that ridiculously sweet and heavenly yummy drinks in abundance are totally ok for the next few days, you listen.
Enough about the meteo-dental rant let’s go back to the good stuff.
And by good I mean back to planner freebies and most importantly Fridays.
I decided to keep up the last week’s summer theme. Sunshine, flowers,  fruits and butterflies are coming to the pages of whatever planner you’re currently using.

INSTRUCTIONS.

Optional : support me by liking my Etsy store https://www.etsy.com/shop/WingedGraphics  or following my Instagram @Winged_Graphics or just tag me in your planner pics. I’d love to see them used in your pretty layouts.

UPDATES: currently working on a  new Fashion illustration sticker set for my Etsy shop.

Having too much fun with drawing those girls. All very summery, bohemian and stylish. Will be available in the store this weekend.

FREEBIE FRIDAY #8-SUMMER SUNSETS: FREE PRINTABLE STICKER SET FOR ERIN CONDREN LIFE PLENNERS (SUNGRIA NOR INCLUDED ;) )

Friday, May 27, 2016

Spring is here… you know it  when you  add a little spring to your walk and a little smile to your face. That’s it the subtle magic of spring.
I know I know spring has been here for most of you for a while now. The novelty has worn off and it’s just another day for you guys.
Bear with me here , I live in Canada.
It’s not all penguins and polar bears and snow for miles (I met a girl in Europe who was convinced we ride snowmobiles and have pet penguins, so I’m just covering the ground here).
Where I live winters are not that severe they are just long. This year, in particular, was very very very  long.  We Only had may be an accumulative week of below -30C weather, most of the time it’s mellow but oh so inconsistent. Budding trees and +14 on Christmas just to drop below -10 in two days.
And then… the unthinkable happened. It  Snowed on May 15th. I’m used to having rain on my birthday, but snow is not something I even thought of.  Now for the last 3-4 days it’s actual Spring outside : the winter jacket is at the dry cleaners the leather jacket has not been worn because we jumped to +30 immediately, but who cares. It’s warm and sunny and I feel like hopping around in fields of flowers and hugging strangers, but due to geographical and sociological limitations, I settle for having drinks or coffee on sunny patios with friends.
I don’t know why I turned this whole post into a glorified weather network report. Just trying to explain why I get so excited this.
Well coincidentally to being a warm beautiful day it’s also our 8th freebie Friday!
Let’s go ahead, shall we?
As you can guess this will involve bright colors, light, flowers butterflies, and all things happy
I called it my Summer sunset Erin Condren Life planner sticker set. And I love it! I hope you’ll like it too.

FREE PRINTABLE PLANNER DIVIDERS IN A5 PERSONAL AND POCKET SIZE

Birthdays make me think of cakes which in its turn makes me want to paint cakes.I , however,  refuse to discriminate between different kinds of oh so high in sugar content and bad for you pastries so I included all kids deserts in my painting menu.

So yes, this is all I did the past week, painted all kinds of pastries.  The funny thing is I didn’t even get to finish my birthday cake and it was delicious. Think coffee with mascarpone cheese in an airy souffle. Yes, heaven on a plate with coffee sprinkled on top. The trouble is after a delicious and big Italian dinner finishing a cake feels like a challenge even for someone with a sweet tooth like me.
Now my Etsy looks like a baker’s heaven and I still cannot stop.  May I just say yummy?

Someone, please give my crazy brain something else to obsess over. I’m not  joking I need ideas and suggestions otherwise watercolor desserts will take over my existence.

Now I’ve been slacking off with updates. I schedule myself to make a Tuesday post just on work in progress and ideas and a freebie Friday and every time I seem to skip the Tuesday and jam some of the updates into a Friday post.
If you want to see the new yummy clipart I added to my etsy store(Winged Graphics) see the links below

This makes me go look for connecting links between my etsy work and the promised freebie Fridays. And this time, I decided to make tab dividers for planners (a5, personal and pocket) as well as a4 binders. The catch is my obsessive mind decided to make them sweet along the way.

SO HERE COMES THE GOOD PART!
Cupcake, donut, cheesecake galore is coming to your planner life (made for filofax, kikkik or any compatible sized planner)

So here we go just a few fairly simple steps and yor stationary looks almost bitable.
  • Download the files here
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B49kATo0pxG7RXpWQkRGV3Azdm8
  • Print on cardstock paper
    A5 5.8"x8.3" (pages 1-4)
    Personal 3.7"x6.7" (pages 5-6)
    Pocket 3.2"4.7"(pages 7-8)
  • Cut along the outline
  • If you want to further protect it from wear and tear.  it if you have a laminator it’s great if now  self-laminating sheets do the jobs pretty well.
  • Punch the holes as your planner dictates

TADA…you’re good to go

Friday the 13th: Freebie Friday #6

Friday, May 13, 2016

Wiii! Friday again, and it is mid May already. Time what are you doing to me?
I feel like every weekend I end up not finishing some task and I tell myself will do next weekend, and it feels so far away. Then boom! It’s Friday (insert a painfully repetitive and passionately annoying song here).
I remember my 7th birthday because I felt so mature and almost old. Well, I was the second oldest among my cousins, so feeling older was my job.  I remember thinking  “Hey I’ll live at least till 70, right? That is s 10 times what I have so far. I’ve got time.”
I have a birthday coming up next week.. ooops
Well enough about that. There are good things I get to celebrate 4 times over a course of a week.  How very royal. I’m going to Friday Nights at the Royal Ontario museum today with a friend. What says party better than Dinosaurs fossils, crystals, and wine ? We have dinner celebration with my family on Sunday, dinner with a few close friends on Monday and a joined birthday   with another friend with a bigger group of people next week.
This is definitely too much partying for me. I feel like I’m one paparazzi shot short of a socialite status. My bank account silently disagrees.
Now back to my freebie Friday schedule. And on this Friday  the 13th, we land on a Freebie Friday #6.
And this week I have for you planner dashboards for various size planners. Flowery springy and a bit celebratory.

INSTRUCTIONS.
  • Download the file here

  • Print the page that corresponds to your planner size
                   Page1 - Letter  8.5"x11"
                   Page2 - A5: 5.8" x 8.3"
                   Page3 - Personal: 3.7" x 6.7"
                   Page4 - Pocket : 3.2" x 4.7"

  • Cut  the extra white paper from the sides
  • If you have a laminator use it if not I promise self-laminating sheets are not bad at all and pretty cheap too. Laminate cut and punch the holes
  • Voila you’re ready to plan

Optional : support me by liking my Etsy store ETSY: WINGED GRAPHICS or following my Instagram @Winged_Graphics

FREEBIE FRIDAY #5

Friday, April 29, 2016

And the gold medal for procrastination goes to…. Drum roll… Me
Every week  I tell myself I’ll share progress  and shop updates just to keep myself motivated, and every week I somehow end up disappointing myself. Freebie Friday is the only thing I can’t get myself to skip. Probably because it feels like I'm letting someone down or breaking a special promise  made. At least I'm responsible with a side of slightly paranoid.
Since the last few weeks I've been concentrating on pintables for 6 ring planners (kikkik, filofax, Webster’s pages etc.), I decided to go Erin Condren this time. Maybe I should think of a rotating schedule for  those. It would be a bit more fair. What do you think? Maybe a three week rotating schedule between ring planner, Erin Condren and graphic element posts?  Let me know in a message or an email.
This week I felt like using peachy pink undertones, but wasn't quite feeling the overwhelming pinkness I ended up with. Something soft with a bit of an edge seemed like a much better choice.  I honestly like the colour scheme I eventually chose: peachy pinks and dark blue. It’s very elegant, feminine and strong.

You learn new things every day. While I was googling shades of blue to make an accurate description of this sticker set, I learned that it looks closest to the colour called Yale blue, because it’s associated with Yale University.

    Yale Blue: Hex  #00356B, CMYK (100, 50, 0, 58), RGB (0, 53, 107)

Another thing I learned today is that  Microsoft  Word does not recognize the verb “to Google” as an actual verb.
So Here we go this time
Freebie Friday #5: Free printable planner stickers sized perfectly for Erin Condren life planners in pink and Yale blue (still childishly amused for knowing the name for this color).

INSTRUCTIONS.

Freebie Friday #4

Friday, April 15, 2016

The weeks are flying by way too fast. We're halfway through April. Which to be fair is hard to notice if you live in Canada. We had snow last week for the love of everything. Spring , where art thou?
So it's Friday again. Hello hello my freebie lovers.
I've been a busy bee this week work and trying to get all ideas organized. See, my problem is I have too many and it's hard to keep track of them, let alone figure out which ones are worth working on and which ones should be just let go of. The worst part is when I get a seemingly good idea and it seems familiar. Wait, I thought of this months ago, never wrote it down, never brainstormed to see the prospects or shortcomings and eventually forgot about it. I wonder how many good one's are there lost in the horrifying quicksands of my short term memory. In my defence, I'm juggling too many things at a time: a full time job, this blog, my etsy shop and a few other project that I like to keep separate from this (incognito identity and stuff...hmm maybe I'm a superhero..who knows.

So for this Freebie Friday number four I've got a continuation of last week's post.
This time it's a free printable planner insert to do list for set up in the same size (A5) and same colour scheme (4 pastel colors). Let's make it a set. it will tie in with your regular planner page nicely.
Suitable for all a5 size planners like Filofax, Kikkik , webster's Pages etc.

What you get it a A4 or letter page set up to host two mildly varying pages in the same color. Total of five A4 pages which make ten A5 lists.  Ok, let's leave the math behind now.
The lists are divided into
-Priorities list
-Appointments
-A general  to do list
-Shopping list

Just download the file here
printable free A5 planner TO DO list

Print full scale(100% or fit to page) and cut along the dotted line. If you need a different size feel free to leave me a comment and I'll do my best to accommodate.

Hope you like it.

If you want to see what else is going on in my papierre life, the shop, my process or get new freebies follow this blog or my instagram @winged_graphics.

And Tune in this Tuesday for a pretty cool tutorial I plan to prepare this weekend.
Bye for now

A little girl with big dreams

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Let me tell you a little secret. Once upon a time in a land far away there was a little girl who  wanted to be a fashion designer.  It started with paper dolls and fancy wardrobes. First they were little girl dolls that practically owned my wardrobe, once I grew up a bit they turned into a bit more Barbish figures, for the lack of a better word, that  had dresses drawn for them inspired by latest MTV video trends. Somewhere in my mid teens , after dropping the cut out dolls, I started taking interest in red carpet events and evening gowns. I was constantly running around with sketchbooks full of little fashion drawings of from fancy gowns to casual outfits.
And then, to be honest,  I do not know what happened. I guess  I heard one too many times that it’s not a feasible career to pursue and it’s a waste of my very technically inclined brain. Eventually I just gave up, after all those were people who knew better, right?

Don’t get me wrong at this point in life I truly cannot imagine myself in the shoes of a fashion designer. it's not a job or lifestyle I am cut out for. Sometimes I just wish I wasn't redirected into a path of not so right educational choices till I landed somewhere I belonged. I  love my job  it’s the perfect compromise for my technical brain and visual mind. Things did work out in the best scenario that was available. Design and illustration are still very much my biggest passions right next to literature.

Why did I get into all this? Well I started working on fashion sticker set for my shop and got totally carried away.

Something inside me snapped back into that little fashion designer mode.   This was probably the most fun I had working on new shop items. Surprise-surprise it still has some undeniable charm for me and I had an amazing time working on those. Give me some watercolors and india ink and let me lose on a deserted island.

So here we go a tribute to that little girl and her sketchbook. And off course I couldn't stop myself from using it as soon as I could.

I've skipped a  Friday or two. Sorry …sorry…
Well in my defense one was a statutory holiday. How does this apply to blogging?

Early Spring and Free Planner Printables make a good combo deal

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Spring is in the air ! I can finally feel it and honestly I couldn't care less about the showers and the gray sky today. Spring is here a bit early, a bit confused but here and that is all I care about.
Is it just me or does spring affect everyone like this? I feel like hopping not walking: almost like the first breath of spring activates the hidden springs under my soles. Tigger you're going have some serious hopping competition soon.
And while we're at it let's hope spring will make me less lazy with this blog.

So here we go. What says spring and bloom better then a wide range of color splashes.
I made this monthly calendars for my A6 planner. Now I have the month ahead right on my first page. It's neat and pretty too.
I made a couple of size variations for A5 planners and a letter size (I have this one pinned at my desk). You can find the links to the files below.

Cheers,

Mari

I should leave it off here. Pretty spread and almost nothing I feel like there's so much i have to/want to do that it overwhelms me. And in the end I get nothing done.
staying late, waking up late, always rushing always saying i'll do things differently tomorrow and going on a loop again and again and again.

February Mid week blues

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

Am I the only one who never finds time to do all the things I intended to? I tell myself everyday what I have to do after work and how early I have to go to sleep. And every single time I find myself awake at 2:30AM and nothing's accomplished. I blame the weather and the winter and the addictive darkness of Marvel's Jessica Jones. Just because I have to blame something. Either way...I had intended to do quite a bit but this is all I got done. I've always suffered from the the fear of first page syndrom.
It's easier when you're dealing with a journal or a sketchbook:
just start at the second page.Ta-da

Now with a blog, unfortunately, it's not a feasible option.
And here I am pretty stuck on my very first page.
So I thought a feebie can be nice icebreaker, after all that's why I started this.
To share some resources or process and keep track of my own work. So here we go.

16 free watercolor backgrounds for Erin Condren vertical spread planners. I hope you like it
